I've always loved my Grandma's dishes. Unfortunately they've been boxed up since we moved to our current house. I displayed them in glass-front cabinets in our previous house. I enjoyed seeing them, but I was always afraid to use them for fear they'd get broken. If I understand correctly, she used stamps that she earned from the grocery store (like a rewards program) to aquire them. I cannot even locate the pattern name or find any online like them. If you are familiar with this pattern, please let me know. I'd love to learn more about them. I have a huge collection: dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, glassware, cups, saucers, and some serving pieces.

I remember those stamp books. They were called S&H stamps or green books, because they were green. I was really little but I remember there was a catalog you could redeem from or the green stamp store. I think the one in K-town was located on Kingston Pike in that old shopping center across from the ice rink. I hadn't thought about those books in years, but I remember being fascinated by them. My mom had a ton of those little books and I don't know if you remember it but we collected them from a grocery store in South K-town called White store. Anyway thanks for the cool memory and I love that you have your grandmother's dishes. I also have mine and like you they are packed in a box because we don't have a good place to display them.
So jealous... these dishes are beautiful. I still think they would look wonderful in my vintage kitchen;) I wish that my family had held onto things like this!
ummm...our china (that we got 8.5 yrs ago when married!) is still packed in boxes...oh well...maybe someday, somewhere we (or my grandkids!) will be able to display it....miss you on Facebook Emily - please come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
